Corner Store Café

Breakfast was a gorgeous affair at the Corner Store Café – Sylvan Rd, Toowong. I have driven past this cafe many times with a silent note to self to stop and try it out and I was pleasantly surprised to rock up to our agreed breakfast meeting spot for the week and find out this was the place!

I loved the ambiance – we could walk through the kitchen to get to various sitting areas and it was relaxing to snag a spot with a view of the beautiful leafy Toowong suburb. The café was vibrant with young moms meeting up with toddlers in tow, professionals from local workplaces and older couples catching up after their morning walk. There was a country feel to the café with fresh flowers for sale displays in cream enamel jugs and rustic wood decor.

Breakfast itself was delicious, I ordered the chilli omelette and maple bacon on toast with a delicious hazelnut cappuccino and my partner and I seriously recommend the omelete!

I am an artist, writer & lover of breakfasts. I think breakfasts are better in bed! I seek out beauty in the mundane and enjoy a nice inspiring chat over a lactose free, hazelnut cappucinno. My favourite things include all visual & performing art, music (especially jazz, classical, folk and vintage), museums, artisan cafes, markets and culture.
